SHRED A BILLION Demo Upgrades, Boosts and Relic Limits
Check the current hand, bucket and proficiency scope, resolve conflicting boost and relic counts, and separate planned full-game tool progression.
Which progression systems are actually in the demo?
Use the November 3 demo release announcement as the current baseline. It names upgrades for hands and the bucket, a jetpack unlock, five boosts, the first two relics, and the opening tiers of the hand and bucket proficiency branches.
That list gives you a way to distinguish a missing feature from a progression question. If you are looking for a named full-game tool, first check whether it belongs in the preview at all. If you are comparing options already shown in your build, use their current on-screen descriptions; this page does not supply an unverified price table.
| System | Confirmed demo scope | What is not established here |
|---|---|---|
| Hands and bucket | Both can be upgraded | Complete prices, values and optimal purchase order |
| Jetpack | An unlock is included | Exact unlock threshold or every movement input |
| Proficiency branches | Opening hand/bucket tiers | The full tree or later-tier requirements |
| Boosts and relics | Five boosts and first two relics in the release announcement | Complete names, effects, locations or durations |
| Shovel and drones | Listed as full-game additions | A way to obtain them permanently in this demo |
Why do older guides say three relics and four boosts?
The October 27 teaser used those earlier counts. The later launch announcement changes the described preview to five boosts and the first two relics. We use the later dated description rather than combining both lists into an invented total.
If your installed build visibly differs, note its date and the actual items you see, then check for newer announcements or report the discrepancy. The available source does not establish the exact location of each relic.
Can a screenshot tell you the best upgrade to buy?

Official Steam promotional image, ImSoTiredStudio / LightTriadGames. It shows upgrade and proficiency navigation alongside tabs for the larger game’s systems. Its displayed values, prices and tool tabs are not a verified table for the current demo.
We have not measured collection rates or compared purchase sequences. Consequently, this guide does not rank upgrades by return on investment or claim that a particular price pays for itself after a certain number of trips. Those conclusions would need current-build values and measured behavior, not just a promotional screenshot.
What should you do if your next expected tool is missing?
Check the Demo goal checker first. The ordinary vacuum progression belongs to the full-game scope; the demo ending has a separate vacuum experience. The starting guide distinguishes the two Steam products.
Also account for your session type: the developer says the demo is tuned across party sizes, so an assumed four-player speed multiplier is not a supported optimization rule. Completing these preview systems will not override the no-transfer save rule.
Sources checked November 7, 2026. Future patch changes to tool availability, relic counts or proficiency limits require a new version check before this scope is treated as current.
